can a person fly after a pulmanary embolism?

My 73 yr old mother is in the hospital for bllodclot in lung wants to fly from Cal to Florida next week she is being released tomorrow .Is that safe?

Hello and thank you for sharing your question.

Her immune system will most likely be weakened from her hospital stay.  You will need to ask her doctor if her health is stable enough for travel because plane flights are hard on even the most healthy person.  Only the doctor will be able to assess her individual condition.
