It's so wonderful to hear of a positive outcome. You are truly blessed. My son is isn a similar situation and it's been longer than 22 days that he's been in a coma. Did your son slowly show signs before he came out of the coma or was it a fairly sudden recovery? I'm looking for info that would provide me some hope. Thank you

Thank you for sharing this it really helps me feel better about my sister. She had a cardiac arrest and now has this brain injury since she didn't receive oxygen for more than 20 minutes. Its her 12 day here at the hospital and she s doing fine is just her mind. Shes like a baby, she just stares at me like she doesn't know me. She can't talk well just basic words. I miss her so much. Some docotr told my mom she might stay like this forever and my mom started crying. Some guy nurses told us she's going to fine and just needs time. Shes only 28 years old and has 2 small children that .is her so much. My sisyer will be going to a rehabilitation center to get more therapy. I pray everyday to god that my sisyer gets better .

my husband was in ICU for a month--in a coma for 5 weeks before he suddenly spoke to me. Recovery is long and slow, but every day is a little better than the day before. After 6 months in the hospital he came home. He has many lingering disabilities, but is with us and a loving presence in our lives. Don't give up hope.

Hi guys, you all are very encouraging! My sister was admitted to ICU on 7th May it's been a struggle. She has now began speaking and has muscle athropy. She is in the beginning stages of therapy. Let's pray for our loved ones and for strength for the journey ahead. Please keep in touch as all your words are encouraging.

I sustained a severe brain injury some 12 years ago, an Anoxic brain injury, as a result of a Heart attack. I spent some weeks in a coma followed by months in hospital then six months in a brain injury rehabilitation centre The Queen Elizabeth foundation centre Bansted Surrey. A truly fantastic centre which I cannot praise enough. It will be a long road to recovery and perhaps you may never get the same person back. Patience and understanding is what you will need by the bucket load, though Brain injury is never the exactly the same, and will vary from individual to individual its just a matter of time really. Hope this has been of some use, good luck to you and your partner.

My mom had pneumonia which sent her into septic shock, her heart arrested 4 times 40 minutes before they got her going and it took 3 hours to stabilize. They say she's in a vegetative state. Her body is healing but her brain has only reflexive reaction. I've been playing music and TV shows bedside to see if that wakes her. She's 66. I welcome any feedback. She came in last Monday morning we have been here about a week.
