Thank you for writing.

The mortality rate for someone with an EF (ejection fraction) of 5% is high. An EF is the heart's ability to pump blood so 5% is obviously very serious.
We are not in a position to tell you if the person involved can improve while in a medically induced coma; that will need to be discussed with his/her medical team.

If this question is for your loved one, I do hope they see improvement.
