Q:

Could I be Pregnant?

I took a pregnancy test a couple minutes ago, my period should have started on the 5th in my opinion, but its irregular and I don't really keep track of it. So I took one this morning, and it came out Negative. Its been 6 days AFTER my missed period. & I used first response that is usually supposed to tell you about 2 to 6 days BEFORE your missed period. I intend on taking the test on the 19 again just to make sure. Do you think I took the pregnancy test to early? I'm going through a lot of stress right now on top of school work, family, friends, more school, and the thought of being pregnant as been literally torturing my mind set. I am very scared and not emotionally or financially prepared to have a baby. Please tell me what you think.

Flowerchild,

Any time you have unprotected sex there is a possibility for pregnancy, regardless of the date. For a pregnancy test to be accurate, the minimum amount of time you should wait to take a pregnancy test is 2 weeks-- However, if you get your period before then then you are not pregnant.

Best,

Rosa

I also had sex on November 9th... is there still a possibility that I could be? I intend on taking the test again 2 weeks after that date just to be sure.

Hi Flowerchild0123,

Based on your other post, you had unprotected sex on the 22nd,which means it was over 2 weeks ago. Your pregnancy test should be accurate by now. I do not think you tested too early, chances are it's just your period being irregular.

Best,

Rosa
