Q:

Could I Be Pregnant?

The first day of my last m/c was 3/7 and lasted only a few days. I am usually extremely regular with my schedule because I use birth control pills. However, I got thrown off this month and could not start my oral contraceptive until 3/11. I had unprotected sex on 3/16. I have been feeling very VERY strange recently. I am incredibly sick to my stomach, I have lower back pain, frequent headaches, my breasts are sore and tender and I have been eating everything in sight. Is there any possible way to take a pregnancy test this soon and know if i was pregnant? Or do I need to wait longer? Is it even possible for me to ovulate if i was only off my birth control for a short period of time? Please help, thank you!

Hi Spark1119,

Thank you for your question. Since you missed pills, had unprotected sex and delayed the start of your new pack of pills, you risk the chance of pregnancy. Many of your symptoms sound pre-menstrual as pregnancy symptoms usually don't show up for at least a month after you miss your period. At this point, you will have to wait and see if you actually miss your period and then try a pregnancy test. Sometimes the waiting makes you sick too....the stress of it, so try and relax.

Keep us posted.
