hi I'm 23 years old and normally my periods last four days and are a continues flow of heavy bleeding. This month it went from light pink spotting to dark brown spotting and I only seen it when I wiped nothing ever got on the panty liner. It's confuseing because it's that time of month for me. And I've read implantation bleeding happens before your period... But this kind of spotting has never happened to me. Any help would be great! Thanks

Dear Anon,

Thanks for reaching out to our community.

Sometimes periods can be irregular. Give it a bit more time, it may still come or be lighter than usual. However, if you had unprotected sex recently, then it's possible you might be pregnant. The only way to know for sure is to take a home pregnancy test. Wait about 2 to 2 1/2 weeks from the time you had sex until you test. It takes about two weeks for your hCG levels to be high enough to be detected in your urine using a home pregnancy test.

Best,
Helena
