Could I be pregnant? what are the chances? Please help! :/

Hi, any advice or help would be appreciated as I'm kinda paranoid right now.
Okay so I am a 21 year old female. My period should have started around Sept 15/16 but hasnt and is around 20 days late now. Ive been having some bit of light cramping for the past few days and that weird heavy feeling one gets before periods are about to start.. but they havent started yet. Im in a long distance relationship and the last time i met my boyfriend was Aug 19 when my last period had just ended. Ive not had vaginal sex AT ALL yet btw. We had fooled around a bit..and he accidently ejaculated near my butthole when i was lying on my stomach. I thoroughly washed myself down there after 3-4 mins. Since my period is late I was wondering what the chances of the semen seeping down in the vagina are when i was lying on my stomach for 2-3 mins? and if that is enough time to get me pregnant?

Another thing to add : I have been fairly irregular in my menstrual cycle this year and have missed a period once and been late by 19-20 days a couple times. I'm quite prone to stress and anxiety too which ive heard can make you miss a period. So initially I had assumed there wasnt much of a reason to worry but now I am starting to worry a bit. I would get a home pregnancy test but Im kinda too embarrassed to go and buy one since i look much younger than my age. I'd appreciate any help of any sort as I'm very worried right now with no one to talk to about this :(

Since your period is due, you might want to take a pregnancy test.

Ok, so I did the test around Oct 6 or 7 and the result was negative. But it's been a month now after that and i still haven't got my periods. I did the test exactly according to the instructions so I'm pretty sure I didn't mess anything up. But I'm worried again. What're the chances of a false negative? Should I do it again or just wait for my periods to come?

Hi Anon,

You might need to see your doctor and explain the changes in your cycles.  Many things can cause an irregular period from stress, medications, ovarian cysts and many other conditions.  If you tested around the time your period was due and got a negative, you might want to retake another.  Testing too early can also give you a false negative.

Best,

Daisy

Hi Anon,

Welcome to EmpowHER.  If there was no intercourse, it's unlikely you will be pregnant.  The delay on your period, can be due to stress and your irregular periods this year.  Which in fact, is something you need to see your doctor about.  To know what can be causing the changes in your cycles.

Best,

Daisy

Thanks Daisy. I hope you're right! Should I do a home test or should I wait for some more days?
