Hello Anonymous-

Have you had unprotected sex?

Was this an over the counter pregnancy test? If so, it is possible to have a negative test and still be pregnant for a couple of reasons. One is that many, many women misread the results on those pregnancy tests. Some of the tests are not very clear, and people get confused or find them hard to read. Another reason is timing. If you have been pregnant a very short time, your hormones may not have changed enough for the test to pick them up yet. In addition, the tests are not infallible, so sometimes you can just plain get a false result.

I suggest you see a health care provider. You can have a blood test done which will be very accurate, and if you are not pregnant you can be checked out to see why you are having these symptoms. There are things other than pregnancy that can cause symptoms like this.

Good luck to you, and please let us know what happens or if we can point you to further resources.
