Could I still be pregnant???

I got my period last week Tuesday and ended on Saturday. Before I was on birth control pills and took the last pack last month. I assumed I would get my period approximately around June 8-10th. But that was not the case. However, during those weeks before getting my period, my nipples were sore and I did feel dizzy at times (these symtpoms never occurred before when i had regular periods and not being on the pill). Now that my period is done, today morning when I got to work, I started to feel nauseous. I did not take a pregnancy test this morning, but am thinking of taking one first thing tomorrow morning. Could I still be pregnant after all this happening???

Hi @miscortes...so i took the test today morning and it was negative. Maybe you were right, those symptoms i was getting is probably b/c i am not on the pill anymore and my body just needs to adjust without them now.

Thanks for your help!

Hi pasntai,
Thank you for your question and welcome to Empowher. If you are having unprotected sex, you certainly have a chance of becoming pregnant. You may experience irregular periods and/or unusual symptoms (such as nausea) due to stopping the pill. Your body is getting back to normal without the use of the pill and therefore, your symptoms do not seem out of the ordinary.

In addition, you experienced your symptoms and then had a period. In most cases, having a period is a good thing and says you’re ‘not pregnant’. Since you have not missed a period, I would guess and say you are probably not pregnant. However, there are always instances where you can still have a period and therefore, take the pregnancy test for a peace of mind. Keep us posted on your results.

Good luck, Missie
