After over a year of irregular and heavy, long bleeding(up to 36 days in one cycle) my gyno suggested a d&c to remove a polyp..she found 2 ovarian cysts and several large fibroids..after the d&c, the bleeding got MUCH worse and was just short of hemmoraging..she then suggested cryoablation(heroption) which i had on 9/20/11, the procedure itself was ok, tolerable with normal cramping after for two days...watery discharge for about 2 1/2 weeks- then all was fine. got a normal period in november, not as heavy, but lasted 2 weeks...then two weeks later, got it again and it's still going strong..going on 3 weeks! heavier than last month...i know it's supposed to take a few months for it to work...but it's now getting unpredictable again and I'm seriously considereing a hysterectomy..I'm 47, will be 48 in a month..I am hoping for menopause so that the bleeding will stop forever! Anyone else have similar problems? I am now anemic because of all the heavy bleeding and have bouts of dizziness because of it....does anyone have any words of encouragement? have you had this done and has it worked for you??? or is a hysto my only remaining option?? Thanks ladies! :-)

Maryann,
January 4, 2012 - 6:03pmThank you. I have spoken with her and she said it can take up to 6 months for the cryoablation to work. I was wondering if any other ladies have had similar experiences with a cryoablation..or if the fibroids are making the procedure not work as well. My gyno said they will shrink with menopause.
Thanks so much!
Lisa

I have no personal experience to share, but, I strongly suggest that you contact your gynecologist immediately, if you haven't done so already.
Your doctor knows your case and can advise you if this bleeding is expected or abnormal.
