I am 27, 5'6 and 80 lbs. I recently spent a night in the ICU due to anorexia related congestive heart failure. I live in a small town and I think I was released for no other reason but financial ones...I. know I need help, I don't want to die, but I am far too weak and sick to even really advocate for myself right now. I do not have family/friends to help or care. Any ideas?

Hi, given the statistics you posted and that you feel you are not strong enough to advocate for yourself, I highly suggest that you contact the help number available here: http://www.nationaleatingdisorders.org/get-help-today/ -THE PHONE NO. is 800 931 2237 and it is open from 9 am to 5 pm Eastern Time. But if you feel weak, please take yourself to the closest federally funded hospital; call an ambulance if you cannot get their on your own. Tell the staff that you need medical treatment for "Re-Feeding". Today is the first day of you new life. Pick up the phone and start talking; the words will come. You are worth it.

Hi Anon,
Welcome to EmpowHER. Sorry to hear that. You need to find help immediately from a doctor or hospital in your area. When you have anorexia, you may need several types of treatment. If your life is in immediate danger, you may need treatment in a hospital emergency room for such issues as a heart rhythm disturbance, dehydration, electrolyte imbalances or psychiatric problems. It's important you find help from a friend or neighbor, if family members won't help.
Here are some resources for you
