Q:

False Positive HPT?

My period always come around the 10th of each month. Its always been regular. In September it came around the 23rd, i believe. It felt like a normal period. Mild Cramps. Nothing i couldnt handle. Yesterday I took a HPT, the clearblue digital and it said "pregnant." Being the paranoid person I am, I started reading about all of the people who had false positives with clearblue. I would be so upset if it was a false positive. I also read that a misscarriage that happened within the past3-4 months may cause a false positive. Do you think that late period I had in September was a miscarriage? Im so confused, and kind of scared. Any help and advice would be amazing!

Yes, and yes!

Yeah!! Congratulations! Home pregnancy tests are 99% accurate at detecting any "pregnancy hormones" in your body. If the test detected pregnancy hormones with a "positive" result, you are pregnant.

So exciting...thanks for sharing! This just made my day! (I have a 7 month old baby, so I'm particularly "baby" sensitive right now!). :-)

Any brand of prenatal vitamins that is sold in the U.S. stores is great.

Congrats again! I hope to hear more about your progress!

Have you thought about re-testing with another brand to confirm the results?

Pregnancy tests do not usually have false positives; false negatives are much more prevalent.

Please re-test, and let us know the results!

Is there a certain test that you would reccomend?

Honestly, they all meet the same standards, and there is not one brand better than another brand. I suggested a different brand, primarily so you feel confident in the results.

It sounds like you are wanting to be pregnant, is this correct? If so, a congratulations may be in order...there really are very, very few false positives when using HPT!
