I took the last week of my pack of Zarah tablets, but forgot to get my script refilled and it took about a week to get new ones. I've been on the current pill pack for a week. My boyfriend and I had sex, and I'm just wondering if I need to be worried about the birth control effectiveness in this situation.

Hi Anon,
Because you were still protected from your previous pack, I don't think you have too much to worry about. Stopping them for a week is not the same as missing your pills for a month. If you had missed your pills for over two weeks, then I would suggest using a backup method of birth control for the first two weeks of your pill. But if you only missed a week and had been on your pills for a week before having sex, then you should be protected.
