Yes i was diagnosed in 1989, and had an operation on mmy neck in 1996. my surgeon went down three levels, but couldnt go further as the bone was too calcificated. The operation was not a success and left me with walking problems arthiritis in the spine, and lower back and arm problems. I am 61 of age, and the headaches started 8 days ago. I have a lot of stress, my daughter is going a divorce and im trying to be there for her and my children. especially my grandson who has Aspergers. I am waiting to rehoused, due to a relationship breakdown, but the other partu refuses to accept its over. Speech problems have come gradually over the last 8 days. If I stop and run what I want to say in my mind, sometimes it works, , but my head hurts and i feel as if i have the worlds thoughts in my mind.

Hi,
Thanks for your additional information.
Since your speech problems have begun gradually over the last 8 days, along with the headaches 8 days ago...are you using any type of over-the-counter pain reliever (for the headaches)? If this is not helping after a week, it is important to call your doctor.
I am so sorry you are going through so much stress, but you sound wonderful to want to "be there" for everyone, even though you are going through a break-up of your own.
I am not a doctor, but your symptoms truly sound stress-related. You may want to call your doctor to rule-out any medical reasons for the headaches and speech problems, and in the meantime...it is crucial that YOU also receive help as the primary caregiver.
What do you find helpful in times of extreme stress? Some suggestions:
- Talk with a counselor
- Write in a journal
- Exercise, become more physically active through walking, swimming
- Talk with friends
- Weekly massage (if permitted by your doctor)
- Do something that brings you joy every day. What makes you laugh? A particular movie? A comedy show? Now is the time to really do the things you love, even if for 30 minutes!
Do you have access to a psychologist, or would you like help finding one? If so, you can send me your zip code (assuming you live in the U.S.) either on this discussion thread or click on my name and send me a personal message.

Hi Anonymous,
Stress can create many heath problems and this certainly could be the reasoning as suggested by your physician. Have you tried dealing with your stress to see if it has an effect on your speech patterns?
If you disagree with the physicians opinion, you could also get a second opinion...just a suggestion.
Dealing with your stresses should be your number one priority. Look at this article for example https://www.empowher.com/headache/content/stress-and-anxiety-can-cause-tension-and-migraine-headaches.

I hope this information helps. Please keep us updated.
