Q:

Had a mammogram last wk. and told I had swollen lymph nodes. Scheduled for a Ultrasound on 09/18. Doctor's nurse called me to tell me and she was not sure what this meant. Call x-ray dept to see if I could get the report and told no. Wonder what is up.

Hello. Thank you for your post.

Did you ask to speak to the doctor? I can give you some general information about why lymph nodes may swell, but you will need to discuss your results and concerns with your physician. Try not to worry.

*Glands can swell following an injury, such as a cut or bite, near the gland or when a tumor or infection occurs in the mouth, head, or neck. Glands in the armpit (axillary lymph nodes) may swell from an injury or infection to the arm or hand....
