Hello. Thank you for posting.

You may have what is called TMJ. The (temporomandibular joint) or TMJ acts like a sliding hinge, connecting your jawbone to your skull. Dysfunction can lead to pain and discomfort.
Jaw pain, difficulty chewing, clicking and locking of the jaw joint are some of the symptoms.
Common treatments include a soft diet, medications, bite guards, and physical therapy.

If after seeing your dentist (to rule out any other dental issues) he or she suspects TMJ, they would refer you to an oral surgeon for evaluation. You can also see your doctor if you feel this is related more to your head than your jaw/teeth/mouth.
