Hello and thank you for choosing EmpowHer,
I'm sorry to hear that your doctors are not helping very much. Your period should not be longer than 7 days. So, they are wrong. Everything is not fine.
When you experience prolonged bleeding there are many possible underlying causes which include:
-Uterine fibroids, non-cancerous growths of the uterus wall
-Endometrial hyperplasia, a thickened endometrium
-A bleeding disorder, like von Willebrand disease
-Thyroid functioning (already tested for that)
-Glandular issues
-Infection
-Ovarian cysts
-Uterine polyps
-Cancer
I highly suggest that you demand to rule out all these possibilities before they tell you everything is fine! Prolonged bleeding can also cause Anemia, so that is another thing to check for. If it turns out to be a hormonal imbalance, most doctors suggest taking birth control pills which is the fastest and most effective way to getting the hormones regulated.
