Q:

How accurate is the Hpt

For the last couple of months (3 months) I've been feeling pregnant. My boobs feel warmer than usual but the only problem is I bleed and I do not know whether this is my period. If I take the pregnancy test now will it be accurate? I've been taking them whenever with FMU as I do not know whether I am having my period.

Correct! You can't get pregnant from dry humping. If you have had bleeding, it is safe to assume it was your menstrual cycle.

Hi Anon,

Thank you for your question.

Many home pregnancy tests claim to be 99 percent accurate on the day you miss your period. Home pregnancy tests don't consistently spot pregnancy early, home pregnancy tests are considered reliable when used according to package instructions one week after a missed period.

If you want to be certain, go have a pregnancy test done by your doctor. Your doctor can also give you input on your menstrual cycle as well.

I hope this helps.

Be well,

I did go to my doctor and she said it is impossible to get pregnant via dry humping with clothing. My concern is I did not have underwear on at the time.. My leggings were wet. His pants stayed on and my Lycra material stayed on aswell. Yet, I do not know why I'm feeling like this. My period is normally irregular. Since the incident I have bled but no idea if it's my period. It's been 3months which is abit late.. so won't the test be accurate? Or is it best to go for a blood test?
