Q:

how effective are extended birth control pills if taken the same time everyday and never missing one? Do you ovulate while taking a 3 month birth control pack?

Hi unsure one,

Thank you for your post!

When taken correctly, all birth control pills are up to 99% effective. Since there is no medical reason to have a period, extended birth control pills will allow you to take active pills for three months and then the placebo pills after. Extended birth control works very similarly to regular birth control and you will not ovulate while on the pill unless you take it incorrectly and are very forgetful.

Hope this helps!
