A couple of days ago, I was smacked really hard with a large stick across my forehead. After it happened I blacked out for about 3 seconds and now I have had a headache ever since then. Right after I was dizzy and it was difficult to put sentences together. I feel fine now expect have had a headache. My question is, how long do concussions last if I were to have one?

Guide

Hello. Thank you for posting today.

A concussion is a mild traumatic brain injury that usually happens after a blow to the head. It can also occur with violent shaking and movement of the head or body. You don't have to lose consciousness to get a concussion or post-concussion syndrome. In fact, the risk of post-concussion syndrome doesn't appear to be associated with the severity of the initial injury. In most people, symptoms occur within the first seven to 10 days and go away within three months.
