Hello and thank you for choosing EmpowHer,
The first thing to remember when losing weight is that you cannot target one area of the body, for fat reduction. For example, doing 100 crunches to reduce waist size will only tone the muscle, but not burn the fat. So you need to do a lot of cardio for weight loss. Your body may loss weight faster in one area versus another. But in the end, cardio is still the only way to burn fat.
Diet is also a huge part of weight loss as you probably know. Carbohydrates and dairy tend to cause fat in the abdominal and hip area. So you may want to start eliminating those from your diet first. Next, I suggest you keep a food dairy. It can be a very good way to keep track of the type of food you eat in a day and also the calorie amount.
Stay away from processed foods (frozen foods, canned foods, the colorful isles of boxed foods). Do most of your shopping in the produce sections.
Over time as you cleanse your body through exercise, healthy food and calorie control; you will see the weight come off.
