Dear Anon.
Thank you for your post.
As you know, Lichen Planopilaris is one of a larger group of conditions known as scarring alopecia that results in inflammation and the development of irreversible hair loss on the scalp. There is not yet a cure for Lichen Planopilaris. Treatment depends on how much of the scalp is affected and how quickly the condition progresses. Steroid creams can sometimes be effective. If this is not effective, steroid injections (into skin lesions), or systemic corticosteroids (taken by mouth) may be considered.
