I am having my period 2 times a month- 1st when my roommate is on her period and 2nd when I should be on mine- and generally spotting in the week between....I am on my last week of a birth control pack and I am wondering if I should wait to start my next pack on the Sunday following the period I have at the same time as my roommate to try and get NY body synced so I don't continue to have 2 periods- is that ok?

Hi Anon,

That's odd that you're having a period when your roommate has hers and also when you're supposed to get yours; I've heard that when friends/roommates live similar lives-- with the same eating habits, for example-- that they will get their periods at around the same time. But twice in a month like your situation, I've never heard. You may want to try waiting until the Sunday following your "roommate" period and start you pack then, to see if that will sync your period. If it doesn't and you continue to get two periods a month, you should contact your doctor.

Best wishes,

Rosa
