Hello Anon

Thank you for writing.

The area around your neck/throat may be red due to the heat of the water when you take a shower. A hot shower can cause a red chest and neck area, regardless of your thyroid condition. If you take cooler showers, you may find this redness leaves.
Are you on medication for your thyroid condition? Check to see if redness of the skin in this area is a side effect. If not, contact your doctor to see if he/she knows why this may be happening.
Best,
Susan
