Q:

I am on my 37th day of menstrual cycle. I've been irregular but not for the longest time. Possible that I am pregnant?

Usually, I start my period on the 34-36th day. I took a prenancy test on my 34th day. It turned out negative. The last time I checked I had sex last October 1st. No symptoms or anything. I have been sexually active too.

Hi Rosa,

Anon here. Did test again today. Still negative. I have been thinking also about stress since I just got flu and I think from overfatigue too. We usually do natural contraceptives with my partner. I'll test again in a week if I still don't have my period. But recently, I have swolen breasts which happens I feel during PMS. I'll get back to this if ever tgere are new adjustments/happenings. Are false negatives common too? Thanks!

Hi Anon,

Have you taken another pregnancy test between yesterday and today? If not, since you tested recently you can give it another week and then test again. Sometimes stress can delay a period. Since you have a history of irregular periods, this may just be one of them. However, if you have irregular periods you shouldn't be having unprotected sex unless you want to become pregnant.

Best of luck,

Rosa
