I had sex on the 5th day of my period... i took an emergency contraceptive pill (ipill) 3 hours later. After 7 days i expierienced bleeding which lasted for 7 days. Now.my periods are late by 2 weeks.. could i be pregnant..?

There was no risk of becoming pregnant when you had intercourse on day 5 of your period.

In the menstrual cycle, about mid- way, one ovary releases a mature egg. If you do not become pregnant at that time, hormone levels drop and the lining of your uterus is released. That is your period.

Because pregnancy was not possible, there was no reason to take an emergency contraceptive pill.

The bleeding which lasted seven days proved you did not become pregnant.

Emergency contraceptive pills can cause your next period to start earlier or later than expected.

S0610, have you had unprotected intercourse since the bleeding? Are your periods normally regular? Emergency contraceptives can cause a delay in the start of your next period, but usually a delay of about five days.

Since your period is late by two weeks, please call your physician.
