If you had your menstrual period, whether it is light or heavy, lasts 3 days or 7 days, then it means your body did not experience a viable pregnancy, and is shedding the uterine lining and unfertilized egg (and/or the egg is re-absorbed instead of "shed" during your period).

Since you are concerned about an unwanted pregnancy, what are your plans to protect yourself during your next sexual experience? Would you like information on birth control options, as we would love to help you sort through all of the information.
