Hi Anonymous,
I have to admit that I had to do some searching for a possible answer to this question. Thomas Hughes WAS the longest survivor who died after 29 years after surgery in March 2007. However, I found that there is a Joe Piscatella, who has now survived bypass surgery for 33 years. I hope this helps, here is the website that I found this information on http://www.samc.com/UMAP.asp?ID=1399.

Good luck!
