Q:

I have been diagnosed with Morton's neuroma. Other than being told to stop wearing heels and pointed toed shoes, nothing about what to do to heal the neuroma. Is there help for me. I play golf and walk the course. I have inserts for my shoes.

Not prescribed by a doctor, just Merrill shoe store had device to stand on that told what I needed and I purchased it. My tennis shoes were the only shoes I could wear without the shooting electrical
Pain so I put the insoles in my golf shoes..... better but I am always conscious of "how I walk". I would love to have normal feet again.

Hello. Thank you for posting.

Morton's neuroma may be caused by pressure or injury, such as from running or use of high heels. It may feel like a pebble in a shoe or a fold in a sock. There may be sharp, burning pain or numbness in the ball of the foot or toes.

Treatment might include arch supports and foot pads, corticosteroid injections, strength exercises, wide-toe shoes, or surgery. Speak to your doctor about these options moving forward.
