I missed 3 pills is there a chance of becoming pregnant?

I live and hr away from him so we were in the heat of the moment because we had not seen each other in a while and i just forgot to take them and ive been with him for 3yrs so we dont use condoms. they are sometimes a hassle. thats why i was wondering. i dont always remember my birth control either. its bad of me. but it happened.

Your birth control pills are only effective once you have been taking them for at least 7-14 days (with your first-ever pack). I am not sure how many you had taken before sex. Also, your birth control pills are only at their most effective (99% at preventing pregnancy) when taken consistently and correctly. If you are missing several pills in a row, plus not making them up, the pills can't do their job at preventing pregnancy.

The exact "chances" is unknown, as it differs from woman to woman, cycle to cycle. All I can say is: the more pills you miss, the more times you have unprotected sex, the more chances you have at becoming pregnant.

I am worried about you, and wondering what was preventing you from being able to take your pills? I am also worried about the circumstances when you had sex; are you able to communicate with your partner about his need to wear a condom? It is imperative that anytime you miss pills, you must use backup birth control for the next 7 days. Did your partner refuse, or were you not able to ask?
