I have a 1 month old daughter and Im a first time user of birth control (Tri-Sprintec). I missed week 3 of my pills and my menstrual cycle started on the very beginning of this week (sunday), the day it ended (friday) I had unprotected sex! I wasn't thinking about it then but Im kind of scared now and wondering if I may become pregnant again and how do I go about finishing the pills?

Hi Pooh!

Thanks for your post and welcome!

If you have unprotected sex you have a chance of getting pregnant. The period you experienced was your withdrawal period since you stopped taking your pills. For most women, having sex right after your period does not result in pregnancy because, if you have a regular cycle, you have not ovulated ye. Still, every woman is different and pregnancy is always an option. Continue taking your pills (or you can start a new pack), wait until the arrival of your next period and if doesn't come next month, home pregnancy tests are very accurate to detect pregnancy.

Good Luck!
