Period was January 12th ovulation predictor on January 19th and 20th and 21st showed lines of positive. Intercourse right in the middle of those days. Around the 28th had mild cramping. Now for the last 2 days have had menstrual like cramps with mild naseau, i usually do not get until a couple days before my period. I usually have a period from 28 to 30 days. Just wondering if this is implantation or if i should be worried about a cyst. i have had a cyst but the pain for a cyst is much worse and did not last a couple days.

I am not sure what you are referring to as a "post coital test". Are you saying you took a home pregnancy test? If so, then yes...it is too soon (22 hours after intercourse) to take a pregnancy test; the earliest these tests will be effective at detecting any "pregnancy hormone" is 2 weeks or more after sex...when you miss your period.

I am not sure what test you are referring to that you took the day of ovulation that found "no sperm". Is this referring to the home pregnancy test again, or are you taking an ovulation predictor kit/test?

You are asking if you have a chance of being pregnant, and we would need more information...but the greatest chance of being pregnant is having unprotected sex (without condoms, and without hormonal contraception, such as the pill) frequently and around the time of suspected ovulation. Are you trying to become pregnant, or trying to avoid pregnancy?

thanks for your response allison....actually postcoitaltest is not a pregnancy test...that was done to test sperms from fluid taken from my vagina using speculum.but doctors said no sperms were found in that..my husband is so upset that he feels he have lowspermcounts...but is there any chance to be a false result?as i heard that this test should be done within 6 to 15 hrs after intercourse..and am trying to concieve soon..i badly need a child..i was diagnosed with pcod and thyroid..this month am in second cycle of clomid.after ultra sound scan doctor told me the date when am goin to ovulate..and we did unprotected sex the whole week..and the next day after ovulation sperm test was done.4th day after ovulation i was having abdominal cramps...today is my 9th day ovulation.small pain is there still and white dischrge is also coming a lot.is this a sign of pregnancy?please help me out..as am very much worried...

Tonya, it sounds as though you are ok waiting, at least for now. Since you've had a cyst before and the pain was much worse, and since your pain has gone away for the moment, chances are that isn't what you're dealing with.

When you were pregnant before with your son, did you notice these kinds of symptoms even before you could take a pregnancy test?

February 9 is just 5 days away; I believe the earliest pregnancy tests are supposed to detect pregnancy about 5 days before a missed period. So in just a couple of days you should be able to find something out.

"This month just feels different" -- that's something you should listen to, whether you think it might be a pregnancy or something else. We are the ones who know our own bodies the best, and we are the ones who just know when something is different. It may be that you had a poorly timed case of slight food poisoning, even. But it is definitely possibly that you had cramping from implantation of the embryo. Sometimes even women have slight spotting about 6-10 days after conception.

Here's a page from Discovery Health on the earliest signs of pregnancy. Are you having any of the others?

Wishing you the best; please come back and let us know!

Tonya, this is a hard one to answer so prematurely. I think you should at least wait until your February period to see what happens. If you suspect pregnancy, you can try a home-test in a week or so. But if symptoms persist I would suggest consulting your GYN as soon as possible. You did not state your age, but I will assume you are still within child-bearing years. Sometimes fibroids can cause similar pain. Have you ever had an ultrasound done to diagnose your cysts? Do you have a history of regular cycles? How abouseverity of PMS symptoms?

I did have a laproscopic surgery back at the end of May 2008. I had once before had endometreosis and had started having some pain during menstrual. My physician did the laproscopic and said there was nothing to be concerned about, that I looked really healthy as far as my reproductive organs. I had endometriosis before I had my son 7 years ago and since I have had him, I have had very little problems. For a while I had severe cramps on the first day of my period. She said my uterus needed to be cleaned so she did a dnc at the time of the laproscopic just to ensure she had covered any area that might have been causing my pain. Since then I have had no problems at all. Periods are a little heavier at times but I put that to getting older, I am 28 by the way, plus I have put on about 40 pounds in the last year. I was way way under weight and needed to add some pounds. I have never had these feelings of cramps unless its just a few days before my period. This was a week or little more than a week before i am supposed to menstrate. The cramping is gone now however and i seem to not notice anything remaining except for the fatigue. My cycles have been regular for about 2 years since coming off birth control. Birth control messed my hormones up very bad. I am one of those people that just can't take it. This month just feels different. I didn't know if i should be concerned. My period is due the 9th of February.
