Sparky,

Do you take your pills every day? or do you sometimes forget? If you are not consistent in taking your pills daily then there is a possibility of pregnancy even if your boyfriend did not ejaculate inside you due to pre-ejaculation.

You are right though, testing for pregnancy is actually recommended once you have missed a period for best accuracy. Don't panic. If you take your pills as prescribed then your chances of being pregnant are slim to none.

Taking your pills with "perfect use" is the best you can do to prevent a pregnancy, and if you are too worried and anxious about getting pregnant, then it may be too soon for you to be having intercourse. I hope that does not sound too harsh, but your other options for best pregnancy prevention to choose from are:
1. Abstinence
2. Perfect use of birth control pill
3. Withdrawal method plus using the pill
4. Using a condom
5. Withdrawal method plus using the pill plus using a condom

These are your best options to prevent pregnancy, and hopefully you can know that you are doing everything you can to be safe. If this does not help you feel less anxious, I would recommend abstinence or I wonder if you have anxiety in other areas of your life that cause you excess stress and concern?

You said you are on the pill, so you are having protected intercourse, which means it is highly unlikely that you are pregnant. I am assuming that you are using your birth control consistently and correctly (every day at the same time) so that it is 99% effective at preventing pregnancy. The only better odds you get are 100% effective at preventing pregnancy through abstinence.

Using a condom is a good idea to protect against sexually transmitted diseases/infections (STDs/STIs), and a good back-up or doubling-up method for pregnancy prevention. It is OK if the condom broke since you are on the pill, and to prevent a break in the future, be sure to use plenty of lubrication and make sure your boyfriend knows to leave room at the tip for semen (the two biggest condom-use errors).

You are right that taking a pregnancy test too early (before a missed period) would not give you an accurate result.

Why are you so worried about being pregnancy when using the pill?
