Q:

I will be 46 in September I have been trying to conceive for 5 years now. I have been regular all my life. I have never been been pregnant nor ever taken pills before. But suddenly I am 8 days late. Is this menopause. I really still want to have a child.

Hi, Anon.

Thank you for posting.

Irregularity in your cycle can be a sign of perimenopause. That was the age I started having signs. However, if you are trying to get pregnant, that could also be why. A pregnancy test will tell you. See your doctor and discuss your chances of getting pregnant at this age, if you haven't already.
