To Whom This May Concern,
(Now a Question for myself!)

Hi, Lately I have been having this issue where when I need to poop my stomach gets really nauseated. After I poop it goes away.
Not to mention I've been severely bloated for a little bit less than a month. It doesn't seem to matter what foods I eat..... I was constipated before my period And I'm going now but I don't know why im having such stomach issues.... I've been having painful stools with a small amount of blood....

What could this be?

Hi XxLovinLifeX,

It is very likely that the blood is from hemorrhoids. Hemorrhoids are swollen, inflamed veins in your anus and lower rectum. They can result from straining during bowel movements.

With the nausea in the upper stomach, (under chest area and not in lower stomach) what would be causing that?

As far as my stools go, patches of blood on my stool and blood when i wipe. As far as coloring goes, it is it's normal color and not black.

Hello XxLovinLifeX,
I strongly suggest that you schedule an appointment with a gastroenterologist. Changes in your normal bowel habits, abdominal bloating and nausea are symptoms that must be evaluated.

Regarding blood in your stool- do you see flecks of blood in the stool or blood in the toilet water or on toilet tissue when you wipe?

Black stool usually means that the blood is coming from the upper part of the gastrointestinal tract. Maroon-colored stools or bright red blood usually suggests that the blood is coming from the lower part of the gastrointestinal tract.

Common causes of abdominal bloating can include constipation, gastroesophageal reflux, irritable bowel syndrome, lactose intolerance, overeating and a bacterial overgrowth in the small intestine.

The common symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome are cramping, abdominal pain, bloating gas, diarrhea and constipation.

It is possible that you may have IBS. Only a physician can determine that.

Please keep us updated on your condition.
