Q:

If I'm not pregnant, what else could be wrong?

I'm 29, never missed a period in my life, yet I'm going on day 43 of my cycle (normally about a 29 day cycle). I had unprotected sex over two months ago and have had two normal periods since then, I even had a pregnancy test done on a routine doctor's visit before I missed my period, which came out negative. What else could be wrong?

Guide

Hello and welcome to EmpowHer,
Since this is abnormal for you, possible causes would be the following:
-Dramatic weight loss
-Anemia
-New medication
-Stress
-Illness
-Polycystic ovary syndrome
-Asherman's syndrome.

If you continue to miss your periods, you should get a pap smear/pelvic exam. However, it is not usually caused by any extreme conditions that need immediate attention.
