I'm 17 years old and I just found out that I have a ovary cyst

I'm not to sure that it's dangerous, but I have been taking birth control pills and I heard that will shrink it? I'm not to familiar with a cyst, but I'm afraid of not being able to have any babies in my future. I did have a pelvic exam, which was about a couple of months ago, and they said my ovaries were a little larger than normal. But I went through a pelvic exam just to get on birth control to regulate and stop the cramps. But now I don't have a period, lol.

Can someone fill me in on this ovary cyst? Is it dangerous if not treated? Will my birth control help?
