IM 32 AND HAVE MISSED 2 PERIODS, IVE NEVER BEEN MORE THAN 4 DAYS LATE.

They ran another blood test if thats negative their going to do a vaginal ultasound before giving me the pill to start your period. thanks

First of all, let me pat you on the back for being proactive about this. All is probably well, but it's awesome that you are going back to the doctor today and that they'll check you out. Many women do miss a period or two for no detectable reason, so it's possible that at the end of this all, that's what you'll find out -- that there was no reason, and your period will return as normal somewhere down the road. But in the meantime, let me give you some information that might be helpful.

Amenorrhea is defined as the lack of a menstrual period. Primary amenorrhea is defined as a girl older than 16 whose period hasn't started; secondary amenorrhea is the term used for a woman who has missed three or more periods (for instance, a woman who has stopped having periods altogether because of overexercise or an eating disorder). Your doctor will be looking for any possible reason this could be happening.

They may test your hormone levels, do another pregnancy test, and ask whether you've been under abnormal levels of stress lately. I assume that they already asked you about any dramatic weight loss or gain, etc? (I also am assuming that you are not on birth control; if you are, you may discuss whether you are on the right birth control for you).
