I had protected sex on August 1st. I took a free urine test at a clinic yesterday (a week after sex) & it came back negative. I think it was too early but my period is supposed to come today or in about two days (my last period was on July 12). I bought another home EPT today & am planning to take it tomorrow morning. Would that still be early? I'm confused, because my period seems to be late, but it might be too early to be testing. :/ Also, I have a REALLY bad cold (severe sore throat, coughing, stuffy nose, body aches, high fever, dizziness). I took DayQuil & now I feel better but those couldn't have been signs of a pregnancy, right? Also, last week, around 2 days after sex, my lower stomach started cramping & my lower back also hurt a lot. It's usually like this a week before my period. Or could this have been implantation cramps ?

For the past few days, my right ovary hurted a lot too & still does. Is this a sign of my period coming? Also, I feel clear watery discharge gushing out of me ( sorry TMI ) so i keep checking to see if it's my period but no :( Is this also a sign of my period coming soon or a sign of pregnancy ? I keep having fever & now i'm cold. help !

Thank you for the quick reply. I know I have protected sex, but they always say condoms aren't 100% effective etc (although I checked afterwards & he even didn't cum in it). I'll be a day late tomorrow but my cycles could be messed up, due to taking plan b two times last month. Thank you though.

Hi R

You say you had protected sex, so I'm confused as to why you are so worried.

If I'm reading this correctly, you are sick and your period is not late. So again, I'm not sure why you are so concerned. Your symptoms can easily be part of the virus you seem to have picked up.

Usually you should wait at least a week after a missed period for an accurate home pregnancy test. If I've misunderstood or you have more questions, please let us know.

Good luck and I hope you feel better soon.
