Irregular Period Scare! Stress related?

Hey girls,
I've had acupuncture done for a while now to regulate my periods. I've slowed down on them now because they've been pretty spot on. My last period was 4 days late, but I haven't gotten my period for a week and a half now (usually when I miss out on acupuncture weekly it may ruin my cycles). I can fall with irregular periods (when I was travelling I once had a migraine and I skipped that month of menstruation) and there is a family history of this so with my mum.

I was fingered by my boyfriend a few weeks ago and my period was due a week ago, we were both careful and both of us are 99% sure he didn't touch himself then me and he didn't cm on my hands (getting rid of the risk of possibly accidentally touching myself from that?) although I did give him a hand job (he stopped me before he was going to ejaculate). During that week my period was due I had a fever (which kept me bed ridden for two days, coughing and sneezing) and then I had a migraine a few days after (which has previously been associated with my irregular periods and my iron deficiency) and last time I was sick similar to this I skipped the period or it came a few weeks after. I also have a grandparent in hospital and school work which has caused stress. I've been to the doctors (didn't tell them of what happened with my boyfriend) and they believe it's normal considering my sickness and my stress. But my boyfriend has reassured me he didn't touch himself and I believe him (I was cautious during it) but I'm still worried I could be pregnant? I figure this worry of being pregnant can also fuel my anxiety. Today I've had a few cramps but have not started bleeding yet and also have been burping a lot. I've also been very acne prone with chocolate and junk food cravings. I will be seeing my Chinese medicine doctor in a few days but I'd love to hear your opinions. Someone please help!

Thankyou,
Lesion

Hello Lesion,

Welcome to the EmpowHER community. Thank you for reaching out to us for our input.

I agree with your physician. From what you shared, there was no risk for becoming pregnant.

A history of an irregular menstrual cycle, prolonged emotional stress and illness are the reasons for a delayed period.

Regards,
Maryann
