Q:

Is it normal to bleed vaginally after intercourse?

Recently, my boyfriend and I had sex...something we do at least twice a week. Admittedly, he got a bit rough....and I think he was trying to stimulate my G spot. However, he became very forceful with his fingers during foreplay. It was uncomfortable, but I didn't feel like I could ask him to stop. Later that night I noticed the bleeding, not like menstration, but more than spotting. I am incredibly sore...even though the sexual act took place 28 hours ago. Should I be concerned?

Hi Anon,

Welcome to EmpowHER. Bleeding after sex is not normal.  It's obvious if it only happens after having sex, it might be he is causing some kind of injury to the vagina or cervix.  It's important to let your boyfriend know when sex is starting to feel uncomfortable and causing trauma to your body. If the bleeding continues you should see your doctor.

Best,

Daisy
