On July 14 my boyfriend and I had sex...nothing went wrong at all...the condom didnt break or anything. A couple days later my stomach began to hurt like cramps. My last period was July 4 so i dont think i was ovulating...My period is suppose to come on next week but im paranoid also i have been dieting at the time. I dont understand what or where the cramps came from.. I never had pain like this after intercourse. I really hope I'm not pregnant well i dont think i am, can you tell me what this pain is in my stomach right above my vagina but its not constant please tell me im not pregnant.

Hi Paranoid

There are many possible diagnoses for pain in that area. The first ones that come to mind are urinary tract infection which is not uncommon after vigorous sex. Are you urinating more often? Do you have pain with urination?

You mention a diet, which makes me wonder what you are doing as far as eating and drinking. Constipation is another possibility. If you think it is unlikely that you are pregnant, so do I. There are a lot of structures in your pelvis that can cause discomfort. Try to think about what your symptoms are and when they come and go and that will help figure out what is going on.

All that being said, if your crampy pelvic pain continues, you should see a health care provider to rule out infection or any other issue. It may not be sex related at all, and any time you have new pain that doesn't disappear you really should get checked out. Good luck and if we can be of further assistance, please let us know.

Yes, that is perfectly normal. Your last menstrual period (LMP) began on July 4th, correct? If your next period began on July 29th, that is a 26-day cycle. Most women's cycles are between 21-35 days, with the average being 28 days. It is a misnomer for women to say their period begins on a monthly basis, as you can attest, 26-day cycle can equate to two periods in one calendar month, even though you have had an entire cycle that is well within normal range.

Hope that makes sense!
