Q:

Is it normal if you keep bleeding after the first sexual intercourse for some two-three days?

The bleeding is not like during the menstrual period, but still there is blood and it won't stop and it makes me worried. Should i necessarily see the doctor or it will go? Thank you!

Hi Anonymous,
Bleeding after your first sexual experience is normal. Women have a skin barrier called a hymen in the vagina that when penetrated will cause bleeding. You may only experience this one time. Afterwards, you shouldn't have bleeding anymore and if you do, please contact your doctor immediately.

I hope this helps answer your question.

Hi Anonymous,
Thank you for your question and welcome to EmpowHer!

Was this your first sexual experience or do you experience bleeding after every sexual experience and therefore you have had sexual intercourse on different occasions? Thank you for the update.
