Is it safe to have unprotected sex 3-4 days after my period?

I ended my period on Tuesday and was just spotting on Wednesday as a sign that my period was going to end. Today is Friday, and I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend. He didn't cum inside me and I took Emergency Contraceptives right after. Am I safe?

Hello Anonymous,

Call to schedule a blood pregnancy test through your gynecologist's office. A blood pregnancy test is more accurate.

hi maryann,

my girlfrnd and me had unprotected sex 3 days after her period. she is regular in her cycle. 3 weeks now has passed and she feels her breast is tender, fatigue, frequent urination, hot body, feeling bloated, food aversion, mood swings.. all are signs of pregnancy according to google but we havent tried PT yet. im afraid she might be pregnant .

Hello Anonymous,

Relax and wait. If her cycles are regular and her period this month is late by at least seven days, then she needs to take a home pregnancy test.

The other option is for her to test using a name brand early response pregnancy test. This allows her to test five days before her period is due to start.

For the most accurate result, she needs to test in the morning. Use the urine when she first wakes up and uses the bathroom.

Let us know what happens,
Maryann

Hello Anonymous,

Was it protected sex? Are you on birth control? Did he wear a condom?
Did your last period start on January 9? Were you still having your period when you had sex?
How long is your menstrual cycle?

If you were still having a period flow when you had sex, there was no possibility of becoming pregnant.

Maryann

Hi,
Been ttc.had my periods Nov29 and then Dec21, had unprotected sex Dec24 when the flow was already very light, though the light spottings ended on 26th. Is there a chance i might conceive? Can i take PT as early as now? My partner is out of town for work and won't be back by the end of the month. Hope to give him good news.
