Is it true that your hair can fall out from stress?

I just read that Sarah Palin's hair began thinning because of stress. I've heard a lot about the negative physiological things that can happen with stress, but hair loss?! Is this true?

Absolutely! I have fallen victim to hair loss due to stress. Stress is a demand upon physical or mental energy and an overwhelming amount of stress can trigger hair loss.
