Q:

Late Period for my normal...2 months in a row

I am 43 years old and for as long as I can remember my period has come between 23-26 days. Last month it was late for my norm at 31 days. Flow and length were normal. As of this cycle I have not gotten it yet and today is day 30. I am not pregnant. I changed jobs 2 months ago and routines. I have health anxiety and always think something is wrong. Can you shed some light on this for me please? - Lori

Guide

Hello and welcome to EmpowHer,
I understand that it it alarming when your menstrual cycle suddenly changes for apparently no reason. So, I would love to give you some insight on why this might be happening. The most common reason for this, is slight hormonal imbalances caused by stress, change in schedule, or change in diet. If you do not get regular pap smears I suggest that you get one. After age 25 it is a good idea to get one annually. This will identify any infections or abnormalities.
But late periods are usually nothing to worry about. So if they don't find anything you have nothing to worry about even if your period is still a little late each month.
