I was previously treated for Lyme Disease (5 months ago) with the standard 3 week antibiotics.
Recently I was retested and they found that my Western Blot IGM test (current infection antibody) is positive. My Elisa was negative. What does this mean? Could I have Lymes disease or something else? What other diseases cause a false positive?
Online it seems like after so many months the antibody changes to IGG. I am confused.
My PCP is sending me to an infectious disease Dr. What should I expect?
Appreciate any input :0)

Hi Beth76,
Welcome to EmpowHER. Infectious disease doctors are internal medicine doctors who treat and diagnose infectious diseases of varying types in the human body. Some diseases that infectious disease doctors deal with include AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria, meningitis, tetanus, and various infections of the respiratory system. You need to discuss with your doctor any test results and perhap it would be best with the specialist.
Here are some resources for you
Lyme Disease
