Im 26 year old female this has been going on for over two years, blood tests, paps, ultra sounds, etc have all been completed numerous times and all come back with no answers. I bleed lightly anywhere from 5 to 3 days before my period and recently this month I finished my period a week ago and yesterday woke up with some cramping and light bleeding again (enough to have a pantie liner) still bleeding but the cramps lasted only that morning for about 2 or 3 hrs. I've been on birth control for several years, been off birth control and tried several others but the doctors still cant figure it out.... anyone have any ideas I can suggest for the doctor to look into that maybe more uncommon?? I have Thalassemia B trait if that would make a difference.

My periods last 5-6days as usual since I was younger. This month was the first month I got cramps (morning for a few hrs only) and bleeding after my period. Sometimes i lightly bleed right to my period or it will stop for a day or two before it begins. Anywhere between 5 to 3 days monthly I will spot/bleed always before my period. But again this is the first month I've not gotten these cramps and bled so close after getting my period.
Thanks for your help!

Have you considered that this might be normal for you, and part of your menstrual cycle?

I just want to make sure I have this correct: are you bleeding/spotting anywhere from 8 total days per cycle to 11 days per cycle? Normal bleeding per cycle is typically about 5-7 days, so your 8 days might not be too far out of the normal range.

What are your thoughts about this?

Since you are spotting before and after your periods, can you tell us: how long are your actual menstrual periods (number of days)?

You said you bleed lightly anywhere from 3-5 days before your period. Do you then begin your period immediately following the spotting (consecutive days), or do you have time in-between with no bleeding/spotting?

Lastly, how many days (out of 28 days) would you say you are bleeding and/or spotting?
