Q:

Light flow of red blood a week early than my expected due

My last menstruation was last December 24. It lasted for almost 6 days. I had intercourse on the 10th of January. On January 17, I had blood on my panties. If I am going to count my cycle days, it is only 23 days from my last menstruation period. Blood is like the regular menstrual period. But light flow this time. I still have to wear pads to keep it clean. But, it's the unusual blood flow. But every time I use wipes to clean after peeing, there are clots and bright red is the color of the blood. I have to wipe about 3-4 time to clean it properly. I usually have 30-35 cycle day every month. Is early period normal? December was quite stressful also because of work. Or are there other explanations on this? Thanks!

Hi Anonymous,

Abnormalities happen often throughout life. If this is the first time you are experiencing abnormalities, this is actually very normal as every month will not feel or seem the same. If you continue for several months to have continuing issues, I would contact your physcian although one abnormal period shouldn't be a concern.

Good luck,

Missie
