Lump on neck

The other day I discovered a kinda soft ish lump on my neck. It hurt when I applied pressure to it. It isn't very big and isn't that visable and only noticeable when you actually feel it. The pain has reduced since the day I discovered it, and I believe it may have decreased in size but I'm not sure. I also have a small lump in the corner of my ear lobe (where the ear lobe attaches to the face) this lump doesn't hurt and it's noticeable when looked at. I'm really worried that I have cancer. Does any of this sound like Cancer? What are the possibilities of what this could be? What has caused this
